Day 2: Technology Tuesday

Learn why technology projects "fail" and how to avoid common pitfalls. 

Andy MacDonald, Director of Customer Service at Aberdeen City discusses their  journey of improvement and the critical role that digital has played. Aberdeen City have recently been awarded Council of the Year 2020 by MJ.

Robin Johnston, Sales Manager at Vodafone, leads a panel of suppliers in discussion on how to deliver on successful technology projects, avoiding common pitfalls and ensuring benefits are maximised.

Paul Davidson Director at iStandUK and Chief Information Officer of Sedgemoor District Council will talk about the SAVVI Project, an MHCLG funded COVID 19 collaborative project looking at data sharing and standards between Councils and other agencies. The project aims to identify vulnerable people and households in order to coordinate a multi-agency approach to providing support and interventions.

Liz Hoskin, Director of Positive Qualities, look at ways of supporting our people in an ever-changing world. Liz looks at the change in how businesses are operating and changing due to the pandemic. With increased home-based working likely to continue for the foreseeable future, Liz tackles the questions of how do we overcome the challenge of the fatigue and possible isolation? 

Hear how the pandemic has accelerated channel shift and changed how Cairn Housing Association serve their tenants with Neil Golightly, Business Services Manager, Cairn Housing.

Mike Ward Head of IT at South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council talks about major organisational change and what is like to come out the other side and implement the changes after the consultants have gone. What is it really like and what do you need to look out for? They were one of the first to implement a new target operating model removing silos and flattening and simplifying structures.
